In preparation for its first anniversary show on July 20 and 21, 2009, Cargo Shoppers Delight and Trade Show introduces new artistic elements this week that continue to set the fashion shopping and trade show event apart from others. The Cargo Sneaker Battle returns, following the popularity of the custom design competition and showcase held at the January Cargo event. Custom sneaker designers* are invited to submit their work to info@cargotradeshow.com to compete in the second Cargo Sneaker Battle, presented by Becks beer. Five finalists will be selected to present their custom sneakers during Cargos Shoppers Delight and Tradeshow—the only fashion trade show event that is open for the public to shop their favorite established and emerging streetwear designers on site. All attendees will be invited to vote on the winning design. The top three designs will receive prizes, provided by Becks. While Cargos main purpose is to deliver additional, alternative avenues for established and emerging brands to showcase and sell their products, it is also about creating an experience. Designers, buyers, and people who come to shop all want to have a good time and to be part of what makes lifestyle fashion appealing—the creativity and personal expression in it, says Gerry Rojas, one of Cargos founders.
